Station History

KKFG "K-Frog", licensed to Bloomfield, NM, first began operation in 1988 as easy-listening KMYO "Cameo". Although under separate ownership, KMYO operated out of the studios of KCEM-AM in Aztec. In 2006, “K-Frog” changed format from Country to “Oldies” and has enjoyed great success as “KOOL 104.5”, Four Corners Greatest Hits.
In 1989, KMYO was formally acquired by KCEM and became KCEM-FM, simulcasting a country music format. In 1992, KCEM AM & FM was acquired by J. Thomas Development and the FM station became KKFG.
In 1997, the station was sold to Capstar / AMFM, Inc., and today is Clear Channel Communications, Inc.
